Peter Meuse,  DVM

Dr. Peter Meuse grew up in Lancaster, Ohio, where he embraced his love for horses by competing at the Grand Prix level in stadium jumping.  After graduation, Dr. Meuse completed an equine surgical, medical, and ambulatory internship at Littleton Equine Medical Center in Littleton, Colorado, working alongside some of the nation's foremost experts on equine lameness.  He has special interest in lameness, internal medicine, chiropractic care, and acupuncture.  His background with top-level equine athletes has prepared him to diagnose and treat most equine ailments.

Nick Hudson, DVM

Dr. Nick Hudson hails from Dunbar, West Virginia.  After graduation, he completed an equine surgical, medical, and ambulatory internship at Littleton Equine Medical Center in Littleton, Colorado, where he worked alongside some of the nation's leading lameness clinicians.  Dr. Hudson is a farrier as well as a veterinarian, and he brings this unique approach to lameness to Bella Vista Equine.  He completed farrier school at Cornell University, where he was trained by Mike Wildenstein, CJF, FWCF (Hon).  While at Reata Equine Hospital in Weatherford Texas, Dr. Hudson worked in their Podiatry Center with Dr. Britt Conklin, managing podiatry cases including severe laminitis, navicular syndrome (caudal heel pain), and conformational hoof defects.  He enjoys working closely with owners and farriers to keep our equine companions comfortable and working at their best. Dr. Nick Hudson has a special interest in podiatry, lameness, and internal medicine.

Olivia Hegedus, DVM

Raised in Northwestern Ohio, Dr. Olivia Hegedus grew up riding in 4-H and local shows. By riding along with her local veterinarian, Dr. Hegedus discovered her passion for animal healthcare.  On a fast pitch softball scholarship, Dr. Hegedus received a bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Akron.  Dr. Hegedus attended The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. She completed a one-year rotating internship at Littleton Equine Medical Center in Littleton, Colorado.  Her main areas of interest are internal medicine, emergency and critical care, and preventative medicine.


In her spare time, Dr. Hegedus enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, Austin, and her daughter, Lucie.  They love hiking with their Golden Retrievers, Buck and Jolene. Dr.  Hegedus also enjoys spending time with her Thoroughbred, Figaro and feisty pony named 12 Gauge.

Carolyn Oehrig, DVM

Dr. Carolyn A Oehrig is native to central Maryland, where she grew up riding and competing horses in the sport of eventing.  Dr. Oehrig completed her Bachelor’s of Science in 2015 at Haverford College, majoring in astrophysics but concentrating on biophysics, studying the mechanics of animal motion.  In May of 2019, she graduated from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech with a focus in equine medicine.  She then completed a one-year internship at Reata Equine Hospital in Weatherford, Texas.

 

Dr. Oehrig loves all aspects of equine medicine but especially enjoys sports medicine, podiatry, internal medicine, and reproduction.  In her spare time, Dr. Oehrig enjoys playing tennis and trying new restaurants with her husband, Robert.  She also likes to spend time outside with her dog, Daisy and her rabbit, Waffulz.

Jacqueline Jennings, DVM

Dr. Jacqueline Jennings is originally from Michigan and grew up riding horses from a young age, training in a variety of disciplines from dressage to western performance.  Upon graduation from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, she completed a medical and surgical internship at Tennessee Equine Hospital.  She developed a special interest in medicine and critical care and went on to complete a fellowship in internal medicine at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington, Kentucky.  She gained extensive experience with neonatology, ultrasonography and emergency work.  Dr. Jennings is excited to be back in Columbus to serve the horse community.  She enjoys all aspects of equine medicine, but has special interests in internal medicine, emergency care and lameness.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Jennings enjoys running, hiking and traveling with her dog, Pooka.  She is a former collegiate athlete and fitness instructor and loves supporting Columbus sports.

Dr. Laura Wodzinski grew up in Greensburg, Pennsylvania where she became interested in horseback riding as a young child. Her love for horses grew as she became a competitive eventer in high school.  In college, she joined the Penn State Dressage Team and was a member throughout her years at Penn State University.   Following graduation from veterinary school at Ross University in St. Kitts, West Indies, Dr. Wodzinski completed a 4-month ambulatory internship at Allegheny Equine in Murrysville PA where she gained a strong foundation in ambulatory veterinary medicine.  Following this internship, she completed a one-year internship at New England Equine Medical and Surgical Center where she gained valuable experience in emergency and critical care, ophthalmology, surgery, and lameness.  In her free time, Dr. Wodzinski enjoys hiking, running, riding her horse, Clover, and spending time with her dog, Harvey.
